
we went and visted the rj mitchell wind tunnel in southampton university.
this is the test section of the wind tunnel, much like our model. the fan can draw up to 743kw of power (~23,000X more than ours) and can produce up to 90mph winds.

this was an example of the research that took place in the wind tunnel while we were there, and vaporised oil is used as “smoke”.
